Rose’ and Rieslings Soon to be Released

Now that most of us have dug out of Storm Stella, we have some brighter days to look forward to and some excellent wines.  This month’s blog features Anne Lambert, a sommelier extraordinaire, from East Avenue Liquor and Wine with some great spring wines.

roseAt East Avenue Liquor and Wine, we are springing ahead and planning for those longer days filled with more light and sunshine. That pretty time of year is right around the corner. Ahh–April and May.  “Springtime Magic” and Rosè & Rieslings will soon be released

Rosè: Rosè is a genre of wine, like red and white. Most Rosès are blends of multiple grapes.
They are fresher, lighter alternatives and usually a bargain when compared to red wines.
Although they are made all around the world, including our many selections in NYS,
Provence, France offers the Gold Standard for Rosès.

Riesling: Riesling is a grape varietal that is famous for their aromatic intensity and high acidity. Think peaches, apricots, nectarines and honey. These wines have the ability to age and they build complexity. Germany offers the Gold Standard in Rieslings, but we all know that Riesling is also the star grape here in our cool climate Finger Lakes Region.

Both Riesling and Rosè come in a range from sweet to dry and are excellent selections for that much-needed hostess gift. They are crowd pleasers and very food friendly!
Another twist on excellence is a Sparkling Rosè or Sparkling Riesling. Adding effervescence just raises the bar and heightens the festive feeling!

Stop in and let us help get you ready to enjoy some of this “Springtime Magic”.  (Ask about our special case pricing).  Let’s raise a glass of Riesling or Rosè!  Cheers!

East Avenue Liquor and Wine is located on 1667 East Avenue right near the corner of Park Avenue.  Stop in and visit the friendly staff and follow them on Facebook.
